Tauripampa is a small town near the top of the Cordillera Negra in the province of Yungay at the Ancash department in Peru. In 2010 the Crosscode Foundation built a school with two classrooms in Tauripampa and this year we contributed different educational material for the school and the children attending school.

The labor started when the school materials were packaged in the Crosscode Lima office and then were transported to Huaraz, the capital city of the Anchash district. Early morning on Monday 15th, the school material was taken from the travel agency in Huaraz to Carhuaz, a small city close to Tauripampa.

The work continued in the school, we were having a very hard time in the construction making a big effort to finish the classrooms for the children. Almost 60% of the building finished, due to this advance we could coordinate actions with the carpenter to begin the work on the school roof.
The second week of February we arrived in Tauripampa to start the roofing of the classroom, for Tuesday of the next week, all the pieces were placed.

We were all very enthusiastic when we started to transport the first materials for the construction of the new school in Tauripampa. Tauripampa is a very poor village located on the Cordillera Negra in the Peruvian Andes. We were promised help with the transportation from the local government as they provided us access to a truck to be used to carry the materials needed for the construction. But that was before the rain started and in addition the road included a very narrow and old bridge that the borrowed truck could not cross…

First of all; a big THANK YOU to everybody that contributes to the school project in Tauripampa. Financing of the project is now secured and the first phase on the way. Thank you to all for helping in your own way to make this possible. In the beginning of December we started the project by going to the village of Tauripampa. We took a night bus from Lima and arrived in Huaraz at 07:30 in morning.
